Buying House
Buying house is a major decision. The first thing you have to do when you decide to buy a house is the amount of cash you need. This cash is the upfront payment for the property which you can pay with your Central Provident Fund. The amount of cash you have will determine the type of house you could afford. When I first purchase my new HDB flat, the 20% hit me. I do not have enough CPF to pay for the 20% deposit because the CPF money was used to pay off part of the loan to reduce the interest payment. I thought it was a smart thing to do, only to realise otherwise because in the end, I have to pay the deposit with cash.
